Mohanlal is busy in his acting career, with some promising projects in the pipeline. The superstar recently wrapped up the first schedule of his 360th project, tentatively titled L360. After a short break, the legendary actor has reportedly resumed filming his most anticipated project, L2 Empuraan. As per the recent updates, Mohanlal reached Gujarat recently and has resumed filming for the much-awaited Prithviraj Sukumaran directorial.

Reportedly, Mohanlal recently joined the L2 Empuraan team, for the Gujarat schedule of the project. The superstar, who has kickstarted filming for his portions in the film is expected to wrap up the new schedule of the Prithviraj Sukumaran directorial by the end of July 2024. Interestingly, the leading man is finally set to shoot combination scenes with popular actor Tovino Thomas in the ongoing Gujarat schedule. Even though both the actors were a part of the 2019-released film Lucifer, the duo had no combination scenes.
As you may know, the new schedule of the Prithviraj Sukumaran directorial started rolling a few weeks back in Gujarat, where the team has been busy filming some of the most crucial portions of L2 Empuraan. If the reports are to be believed, the actor-filmmaker and his team shot the younger portions of Prithviraj’s character Zayed Masood, featuring Salaar actor Karthikeya Dev, in this schedule. As reported earlier, both Zayed Masood and Tovino Thomas’ character Jathin Ramdas are expected to have a longer screentime, in the second installment of the Lucifer franchise.
L2 Empuraan release plans
If things go as planned, Prithviraj Sukumaran and his team might wrap up the entire filming of L2 Empuraan by October 2024. The actor-filmmaker is reportedly planning to kickstart the post-production works of the Mohanlal starrer immediately after completing the shooting. The makers are keen to release the highly anticipated Lucifer sequel by the first quarter of 2025. A major update on the same is expected to be out, by the end of this year.
