L2 Empruaan, the action thriller which marks the third collaboration of Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran, is one of the most-awaited projects of Malayalam cinema. The new schedule of the film started rolling in Gujarat, recently. Meanwhile, it was rumoured that Sujith Vaassudev, the senior cinematographer, is no longer a part of the L2 Empuraan crew. The rumour mills also suggested that National Award-winner Girish Gangadharan is set to replace Sujith in L2 Empuraan. However, Prithviraj and the team have now put the rumours to rest.
L2 Empuraan director Prithviraj Sukumaran reacts to rumours
The celebrated actor-filmmaker recently took to his official social media handles and dropped a location still with cinematographer Sujith Vaassudev. Even though Prithviraj Sukumaran didn’t address the rumours directly, the multi-faceted talent put them to rest by indirectly confirming that Sujith is very much a part of the L2 Empuraan crew. “#L2E #Empuraan #NightShoot #Gujarat @sujithvaassudev,” the director captioned his social media post. The reports suggest that Girish Gangadharan was never approached for the Mohanlal-starrer.
Ranam fame director Nirmal Sahadev, who serves as the associate director of L2 Empuraan, shared a location still from the sets of the film, recently. In his caption, the filmmaker hinted that Sujith Vaassudev is very much a part of the Mohanlal starrer, and brushed off the rumours with his quirky caption. “#L2E Night shoots! Sneaking in when @sujithvaassudev leaves,” reads Nirmal’s Instagram post. The new updates from the team have also put an end to the rumours, which hinted at the creative differences between the team members.
L2 Empuraan shoot plans
As reported earlier, Mohanlal is not a part of the Gujarat schedule of L2 Empuraan, which mainly focuses on the backstory of Zayed Masood, the character played by director Prithviraj Sukumaran. After wrapping up the Gujarat schedule, the filmmaker and his team are expected to travel to the USA and the UK yet again, to finish shooting for the pending foreign schedule. A brief schedule is also expected to go on floors in Dubai, very soon. Later, the team will return to Kerala, for the pending portions.
