Kuva Kuva Kuvale – New single from Pruthvi Ambaar’s Matsyagandha is here

Kannada actor Pruthvi Ambaar is in a bit of a tight spot. He’s got three releases coming out in a short span of time, with two, Matsyagandha and For Regn vying for the same date and either unwilling to vacate the spot for the other. Earlier today, the team of Matsyagandha released a new song from the film to reaffirm their intention of releasing the film on February 23.

The song, Kuva Kuva Kuvale, written by director Devraj Poojary, has been composed and sung by actor Prashant Siddi and is quite the foot-tapping peppy number. The team has, however, only released a lyrical video version as of now. Matsyagandha, according to director Devraj Poojary is a tale set in Uttara Kannada, with the focus on the fisherfolk of the area. The film marks the debut of Prashant as music director and has composed five songs.

Matsyagandha, adds Devraj, is a commercial entertainer that will explore the livelihood of fisherfolk and the struggles they have in day-to-day life to make a living, The film showcases this in the most realistic fashion, he said, adding that to achieve this, Matsyagandha was entirely shot in the coastal belt around Honnavara, Kumta, and its surroundings.

With cinematography by Praveen M Prabhu, Matsyagandha also features Bhajarangi Loki, Sharath Lohithashwa, Prashanth Siddi, Kiran Naik, Ashok Hegde, PD Sathish Chandra, Disha Shetty, Anjali Panday, Mime Ramdas, Nagaraj Byndoor, Niriksha Shetty, and others in significant roles. Prashant plays a fisherman, while Pruthvi is a police officer.

Incidentally, Matsyagandha is Pruthvi’s first as a massy cop character. The actor has a long lineup of films including Life is Beautiful, Aba Jaba Daba, Bhuvanam Gaganam, A Day in Dollarspete, From America. His immediate release is Juni, a film that explores dissociative identity disorder and has the actor playing a chef. Juni will release on February 9.
