Kummatikali: Madhav Suresh's debut film to hit the big screen during this festival

Regarding Kummatikali's theatrical release, the film's makers have released a significant update. The action drama will premiere on the big screen in September in conjunction with Onam. Madhav Suresh, the son of Malayalam actor Suresh Gopi, will mark his acting debut with this project. 

If the film opens on time, it would be shown in theatres alongside some of the most eagerly awaited Malayalam films of 2024, including Ajayante Randam Moshanam, Kondal, and Kishkindha Kaandam. R K Vincent Selva has directed Kummatikali.

In the trailer for the movie, Madhav played a young boy named Dennis who belongs to the Kummati Boys gang and lives in a coastal area. It also shows his resistance to those who are taking away the locals' only source of income. Lena is shown as a doting mother who has reared four boys since their early years. After two minutes and twenty seconds, we get to see people shaving the head of Lena's character.

The video also includes a brief clip of Kummattikali, or mask dance, a traditional dance form from Kerala. At the start of the year, during the Malayalam months of Makaram and Kumbham, this mask dance takes place. After the project was announced, everyone was eager to see the star child perform on screen.

While some praised Madhav for his exciting Malayalam film debut, others drew attention to the fact that the trailer barely reveals anything and gives away the entire plot. A few other people have also made the analogy that the movie's plot is similar to a television serial.

Kummatikali's cast and crew

The female leads in Kummatikali are Yami Sona and Devika Satheesh. The supporting cast of this action drama includes Mithun Prakash, Rashik Ajmal, Dhananjay, Lena, Mime Gopi, Antony Dinesh, Azeez Nedumangad, Major Ravi, Sarish, and Sanjeev Jeevan. The director has also written the screenplay for the movie. Don Max is the editor, and Venkiy has taken care of the camera work.
