Nithya Menen, who was last seen in Amazon Prime Video’s critically acclaimed show Modern Love Hyderabad, is back in action in Telugu with another web series for the same streamer again. Her next is titled Kumari Srimathi, a show produced by leading Telugu production house Vyjayanthi Movies, marking the directorial debut of Katha Sangama fame cinematographer Gomtesh Upadhye.

Kumari Srimathi is created and co-written by actor-director Srinivas Avasarala. Praneeta Patnaik, Naresh, Thiruveer essay other pivotal roles in the show which will be out on Amazon Prime Video on September 28. The motion poster of the show was out recently. Keerthy Suresh was to unveil the teaser yesterday; but the launch date was pushed to today, offering condolences to Vijay Antony’s family.

In the teaser, an elderly woman in an event tells Nithya Menen, “Siri..your younger sister too is getting married..when will you invite us to your wedding?” Later, the teaser reveals how she’s being very choosy with alliances - rejecting NRI matches and not liking a Delhite. Praneeta later asks Nithya to control her temper, suggesting it’s affecting their business.

The actress heads a catering business in the show. In response to an elderly woman enquiring about her marriage, Nithya shares, “Papayamma passed away the other day. When’s your turn?” Kumari Srimathi promises to be an engaging, feel-good show for audiences of all age groups. Staccato and Kamran have scored the music. Mohana Krishna is the cinematographer.

Nirupam Paritala, Thiruveer, Gauthami, Talluri Rameshwari, Prem Sagar, Lakshmi Vennelaa, Ushasree, Gavireddy Srinivas, Akshay Lagusani,Mahesh Achanta, Madhavilatha, Subbaraya Sharma, Ram and Laxman, Srivani, Venu Polasani form the supporting cast. Uday Aghamarshan, Kaushik Subrahmanya, Jayanth Tadinada are the other writers of the show.
