Kuler Achaar: Iman Chakraborty's new song shows the love and the heartbreaks of Madhumita and Vikram

Madhumita Sarcar and Vikram Chatterjee’s romantic family drama Kuler Achaar is gearing up for a hall release on July 15. Meanwhile, the second song of the film was dropped on Friday. Directed by Sudeep Das, the film also features Indrani Halder and Sujan Mukhopadhyay.

The film delves into the life of Mithi, played by Madhumita, who decides not to change her surname after marriage. The new song, Ami Amar Modhye, portrays the relationship that she develops with her mother-in-law, Indrani Halder. It also focuses on Mithi’s growing distance from her husband. The melodious tune is composed by Prosen and his friends, and the song is sung by National Award-winning playback singer, Iman Chakraborty. 

Earlier, while talking to us, Madhumita said that the film is not just about a tiff between Mithi and her in-laws over her surname. “It also questions a lot of social conventions,” she said. Meanwhile, the trailer that was dropped on June 28, shows the same. The trailer also shows sizzling chemistry between Vikram and Madhumita.

Meanwhile, while talking to us, Vikram said that many social conventions still exist in society. “While for urban, privileged people like us, changing surname after marriage is just an option. For hundreds of people across India, it is a compulsion for women to change their surname after marriage. I think people will be able to connect with the film,” he said.  

Kuler Achaar will also mark a comeback for Indrani Halder on the big screen. The actress has been busy playing the key character in Star Jalsha’s mega serial, Shreemoyee. Vikram and Madhumita are very busy with their schedule. While Madhumita has recently worked in a Telugu film, Vikram has just wrapped shooting for Aritra Sen’s Sohorer Ushnotomo Dine. He has also worked in Atanu Ghosh’s Sesh Pata and the second season of his musical thriller Rudrabinar Obhishaap was dropped on Friday on Hoichoi.
