Actor Rahul Vijay, son of stunt choreographer Vijay, made a mark and won laurels with aha’s web show Kudi Yedamaithe, headlined by Amala Paul and directed by Pawan Kumar. The upcoming actor, who was earlier part of films like Suryakantham and Ee Maaya Peremito, has utilised his opportunities post Kudi Yedamaithe well and has an exciting lineup of projects this year.
His next release is Panchathantram, an anthology helmed by Harsha Pulipaka, where he’s paired opposite Shivathmika Rajashekar. Swathi Reddy, Divya Sripada, and Brahmanandam too play important roles in the film. He also plays the lead role in Tellavarithe Guruvaram director Manikanth Jelli’s next, produced by Eternity Entertainment. Shivani Rajashekar is the female lead of the untitled film.
He is also joining hands with Megha Akash for a romantic comedy titled Maate Manthramu, helmed by Abhimanyu Baddi, an associate of Dear Megha filmmaker Sushanth Reddy. Maate Mantramu’s shoot had neared completion and a release date will be announced shortly. Also, Rahul is cast in a key role in Teja Marni’s untitled film with GA2 Pictures (another division of Geetha Arts).
With a flurry of films across different genres, Rahul Vijay couldn’t have asked for anything more as an actor. While we can be assured of watching Panchanthantram and Maate Manthramu at theatres soon, we’ll get to know about the other release dates in the coming months. The actor is also keen to team up with his father for a kickass action film in the future. Which of Rahul Vijay’s projects would you place your bet on?
Rahul also made his Tamil debut with College Kumar in 2020, directed by Hari Santhosh, which also starred Priya Vadlamani, Madhoo and Prabhu. While his Suryakantham and Ee Maaya Peremito are streaming on Amazon Prime Video, his web show Kudi Yedamaithe can be watched on aha.
