Kubera plot revealed? Netizens claim Dhanush-starrer is similar to THIS Tamil film

Dhanush’s most anticipated film Kubera had generated quite a buzz on the internet when the title and motion poster of the film were released. Although the makers have been tight-lipped about the story, few reports have leaked the film’s plot. According to the latest Tamil reports, the film centres around Dhanush’s character who plays a dual role in the film – one of a homeless man and another character of a millionaire.  

On the other hand, Nagarjuna is said to be playing the role of the antagonist who is a gangster/mafia don from Mumbai. Although the film’s plot seems vague, few netizens have drawn comparisons with Vijay Antony’s Pichaikkaran and have claimed that the Dhanush-starrer is made along the lines of the 2016 Tamil blockbuster. Nonetheless, we are thrilled to witness the Captain Miller star donning two interesting roles in the film! 

The intriguing first-look poster and the leaked plotline’s connection

The first motion poster from the film, which was unveiled on the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivaratri, featured Dhanush in an intriguing look from the film. The actor looked almost unrecognisable in the new poster that showcased him, standing in front of a painting of Shiva and Parvati. The poster suggested that the film is going to centre around Dhanush’s character, who is a homeless man. The title ‘Kubera’ refers to the Hindu ‘guardian of treasure’, but it contrasts with the poster and the actor’s look. So, going by the leaked plotline, Dhanush is very likely to play a dual role in the film.

What is Kubera all about?

 Directed by Telugu director Sekhar Kammula, Kubera (which was earlier tentatively titled DNS) stars Dhanush in the lead role, along with a stellar ensemble cast of Nagarjuna, Jim Sarbh and Rashmika Mandanna. Interestingly, the film also marks the Tamil debut of Bollywood actor Jim Sarbh. Touted to be an action drama, the film has predominantly been shot in Mumbai's Dharavi and Tirupati.  

Kubera - bilingual film

The technical crew consists of Niketh Bommi as the cinematographer, while Ramakrishna Sabbani and Monika Nigotre have handled the production design. Devi Sri Prasad is scoring the music for the film. Although a release date is yet to be announced, Kubera will be a bilingual film, shot simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu.
