Kubera - Dhanush and Rashmika Mandanna spotted shooting in Mumbai | Watch video from sets

Dhanush and director Sekhar Kammula’s upcoming film Kubera has been generating quite a buzz lately. The makers of the film recently took to their social media pages to reveal that a ‘massive Mumbai chapter’ has kicked off. It appears that the team began their Mumbai schedule on April 23. Rashmika Mandanna has also joined Dhanush's filming schedule, and the producers are reportedly prioritising their scenes to fit their other commitments. Now, a video of the lead actors from the sets has been doing rounds on social media.

Dhanush and Rashmika Mandanna on Kubera sets

The newly surfaced video showcased Dhanush donning blazers, while Rashmika was seen in a salwar suit. The video seems to have been taken from a night schedule where technicians are seen accompanying the leading stars on the sets of Kubera. The leaked video has been generating a lot of traction on social media platforms. From Dhanush’s appearance, it is safe to assume that the actor could be donning two looks, as reported earlier.  

Prior to the Mumbai schedule, Rashmika had shared a snapshot from the sets on her Instagram story, along with a caption that read, “And it's pack up! Kubera,” confirming reports that the film has entered its next schedule.

Kubera plotline

Directed by Sekhar Kammula, the upcoming Dhanush-starrer features an ensemble cast of Nagarjuna, and Jim Sarbh. It is also Jim Sarbh's debut Tamil film. From the earlier released first-look poster, it is assumed that the film centres around Dhanush’s character who once was a homeless man but eventually became a powerful mafia leader. On the other hand, Nagarjuna is said to be playing the role of the antagonist who is a gangster/mafia don from Mumbai. Initially, a few cinephiles drew comparisons with Vijay Antony’s Pichaikkaran and claimed that the Dhanush-starrer is made along the lines of the 2016 Tamil blockbuster.  

National Award-winning composer Devi Sri Prasad is scoring the music for the film. Kubera will be a bilingual film, shot simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu. The release date is yet to be announced.
