Mimi brought Kriti Sanon recognition as an actor but the actress believes that it was another film which brought her recognition among the audiences. They changed things for her in the industry too after the particular movie’s release. The actress, like most, was stereotyped after her debut film Heropanti but that changed and the change happened way before Mimi released.
Which was the movie?
People stereotyped Kriti as the urban girl, she revealed to Pinkvilla. The actress further stated that things changed once people saw her as a small-town girl in Bareilly Ki Barfi. The movie came as a surprise to her but worked in her favour, for she then got Luka Chuppi opposite Kartik Aaryan post the release of that film. Apart from Bareilly Ki Barfi, Kriti was also offered a role in Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale, which also came as a surprise to her.
Kriti recognized more since Mimi
Kriti was the poster face of Mimi, a story of a surrogate mother. The movie was a remake of director Laxman Utekar’s own Marathi film, Mala Aai Vhhaychy! (2011). Kriti played the role of a surrogate mother who suddenly had the responsibility of either aborting the child or becoming a single parent. The actress won best actress at National Awards for her role in the movie.
Kriti, on the work front
Kriti was last seen in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya opposite Shahid Kapoor. The actress played the role of a robot in the film which worked at the Box Office as well as at the music charts. Her other movie Crew, opposite Kareena Kapoor Khan and Tabu, is making noise at the Box Office too.
The actress will be seen in Do Patti opposite Kajol next. She is also a part of Housefull 5 and Bhediya 2. Kriti played the female lead in Bhediya and had a suspenseful end (with an open ending where she might or might not have died).
