Kriti Sanon made several heads turn with a confident, spotaneous performance in her debut release, 1 Nenokkadine, in 2014. She was paired opposite Mahesh Babu in the thriller helmed by Sukumar. While she worked on Sudheer Varma’s Telugu film Dochey later, Kriti had begun to focus on her career in Hindi cinema more. The Mimi actress was in Hyderabad to promote Thabelu, the Telugu version of her horror-comedy Bhediya, on Saturday, in which she’s paired opposite Varun Dhawan.
The actress was naturally nostalgic while promoting Bhediya in Hyderabad and spoke about how her film career took off in Telugu cinema. “I was a nobody when I entered Telugu cinema and I will always remember the love with which you all treated me for my very first film. I feel very nostalgic now and I’ll attempt to speak to you all in Telugu. I am happy that Allu Aravind garu is promoting Bhediya in Telugu; we are also working together for Shehzada, the remake of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo,” she said.
Talking on her first ever co-star Mahesh Babu, Kriti said, “He helped me a lot, not only in Telugu, but much beyond that. I never shot for a film before. I didn’t know what terms like mark, facing meant. He is the loveliest, humblest person I’d ever met. I was so happy that he was my first co-star. He was very relaxed and normal and made me feel the same too. I remember shooting extensively in London, Belfast, Phuket. I love 1 Nenokkadine, I love the songs - You’re My Love, Sayonara, Aw Tuzo Moh Korta.”
Also starring Deepak Dobriyal, Abhishek Banerjee, Paalin Kabak, Bhediya is directed by Amar Kaushik, produced by Dinesh Vijan and written by Niren Bhatt. Sachin - Jigar have scored the music for the film which has cinematography by Jishnu Bhattacharjee and is edited by Sanyukta Kaza.
