Kriti Sanon bagged a plum role right in her debut film 1: Nenokkadine, where she was paired opposite Mahesh Babu. Despite being a newcomer, she exuded a confidence and on-screen charisma that won her many fans in the Telugu land. While she starred opposite Naga Chaitanya in Dohchay again in 2015, she’s back in the industry with Adipurush. The pre-release event of the epic drama, headlined by Prabhas and directed by Om Raut, was held at Tirupathi.

The actress was full of gratitude for the love of her Telugu fans. “Andariki namaskaram or should I say hi darlings? Ela unnaru?,” she started her speech in Telugu, adding, “Thank you for the warm reception. I have begun my career in Telugu cinema. I feel blessed to be in front of you after 9 years with the most precious film in my career, Adipurush and to play Janaki. It’s not often you see actresses getting a chance to play Sita even after many years,” she said.

“I am glad to have played Janaki within 9 years of my career and I’m here only because of your love. I believe actors don’t choose films or characters but they in turn choose us. I’m privileged that Janaki chose me. This is not just a film for me and something more. I need more of your blessings and love in theatres on June 16. I really love you all. Jai Siya Ram,” Kriti stated.

Adipurush was not like any other film because Janaki (maa) has a lot of power in her character, she stated. “The atmosphere was one of the best I’ve encountered on any set. I’ve never seen anyone shouting on the other. There was always silence and purity in the air because we were retelling Ramayana again.”

Heaping praise on her co-star, Kriti mentioned, “I was told that Prabhas doesn’t talk too much but that is not true at all. He talks a lot and he’s genuinely a darling, sweetheart and he’s very warm, sweet, hardworking and a big foodie. There’s so much calmness in his eyes that I couldn’t imagine anyone else play Raghav.”

In a conversation with the event host Pradeep Machiraju, Kriti called family her biggest strength. “They’re the reason I’m here in front of so many people today and that I could follow my dreams. They’ve been my constants. However, on days when I feel low, it’s the love of fans that brings a smile on our face. We’ll meet you all in theatres on June 16 again,” she signed off.
