Kriti Sanon – who recently won a National Award for her commendable acting skills in the 2021 movie Mimi – has given a new definition to the youth of Raksha Bandhan. Today, on this special occasion, Kriti is celebrating the day with her sister Nupur Sanon.
Traditionally, sisters tie rakhi on the wrists of their brothers. They also apply tilak on their brother's forehead and pray for the good health of their brothers. Breaking away from these old-adage traditions, Kriti celebrated rakhi with her sister Nupur and prayed for her good health.
In an Instagram post today, Kriti wrote, “The Sanon Sisters!! @nupursanon Sisterssss are the bestttt!! Love you to the moon and back! Happy Rakhi!!” Inside this post, Kriti attached a short video wherein she along with her sister Nupur can be spotted bouncing with joy while celebrating the occasion in traditional attires.
Replying to this post, Nupur commented in the comments section: “Happy Rakhi to the best best best sister in the world!! Inspiring me! Protecting me! Teaching me the hard lessons of life! And always telling me to do my own thing, be the best human I can be each day, and let karma take care of everyone else ;) ️I love you!”
Some of Kriti’s fans also dropped adorable comments on the development. “You both have such a pure bond️. Happy Rakhi to our favorites!,” wrote an Instagram user.
“Cute sisters' bond is always the best,” wrote another admirer of Kriti Sanon.

Sanon will next star with Shahid Kapoor in an as-yet-untitled romantic comedy. She will also reunite with Tiger Shroff in Vikas Bahl's action film Ganapath: Part 1. Sanon will also star with Tabu and Kareena Kapoor Khan in the female-led film The Crew.
Recently, she also launched her own production company, named Blue Butterfly Films, under which she will produce and star in Do Patti, a mystery film for Netflix co-starring Kajol.
