KRG Studios has just announced it’s fourth production venture. The official handle of the banner had tweeted earlier, “40 years ago we conquered LORD'S, 40 years later we're coming to conquer the ODDs,” to announce that the film would be revealed today at 11.31 am.

“Cricket aaḍodu aaḍsodu aṣṭu sulabha alla - bahaḷa kirik maaḍbeku! Prastuta paḍisutiddēve Kirik’et’11, KRG-ya mundina citra. Ellaru aaḍtaare! Ellaru noḍtaare!” read the official announcement of the fourth production to be directed by Suman Kumar, with Danish Sait and Naveen Shankar in the lead. Written by Manoj Kumar Kalaivanan, with music by Vasuki Vaibhav, the film is presumably an underdog tale about a young talent’s effort to be noticed and taken seriously for a spot on a cricket team.

Kirik’et’11 will, officially, be Naveen’s second film with the banner after Gurudev Hoysala. The actor was widely appreciated for his role as one of the antagonists Bali. His lean and muscular physical transformation and performance as the fierce and loyal ‘guard dog’ of the villain had pretty much everyone take notice and exclaim that he’s a talent to look forward to. Naveen, who’s had a good year with his role in Hondisi Bareyiri also being talked about, will next be seen in Kshetrapati, in which he plays the lead. The film is expected to release in July.

KRG Studios, which began as a marketing and distribution wing, by Karthik Gowda and Yogi G Raj, ventured into film production with Rathnan Prapancha. The Rohit Padaki directorial had Dhananjaya in the lead and had a direct-to-OTT outing on Amazon Prime Video. With their next, they reunited with the actor for a cop caper set in North Karnataka, called Gurudev Hoysala. The third production venture, Uttarakaanda, sees director Rohit back with the studio, with a gangster tale set in North Karnataka led by Dhananjaya, yet again. The film is also mean to herald actress Ramya’s return to the big screen after several years.
