The chaos around the Spider-Man universe shared between Sony and Marvel is currently the wildest space to be. While the world is focused on Spider-Man 4 and cannot let any details slip, even if it means a random rumor, Sony is also investing in their alternate Spidey Universe. Unlike Marvel, the studio has been emphasizing the villains of the Spidey Universe, and whether there is a plan to make them all meet Peter Parker remains a mystery that the studio has failed to solve for years now. While we know only a little about their plans, even guessing is not applicable here. But the latest rumor now brings the web-slinging superhero to one of the most awaited Sony films, Kraven The Hunter.
Starring the ever-so-charming Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Kraven The Hunter has been one of the most anticipated Sony movies for a while. After going through a couple of release date changes, behind-the-scenes roadblocks, and a whole lot of rumors, the movie is finally set for a December 2024 release, and fans cannot wait. But the biggest conversation on the internet around the movie has been about whether this movie finally has a concrete Spider-Man involvement or not. Well, it seems like a scooper has an answer to this. Read on to know everything about it.
Sony has been making sure to mention, or at least show a glimpse of, Peter Parker in the villain origin or sequel movies. But the world has been wanting to know the concrete plan. Recently, we heard that Venom will have a part to play in Spider-Man 4, thanks to the piece of symbiote that was left behind in Spider-Man: No Way Home post-credits. But what about Kraven The Hunter? Does Aaron Taylor-Johnson's character, the hunter aka the antagonist, meet Spider-Man in his standalone movie?
Well, a scooper who runs the handle Cryptic4KQual on X (formerly called Twitter), now revealed whether Spider-Man and Morbius meet Sergei Kravinoff aka Kraven The Hunter in the movie. When a fan asked this question during an AMA session, the scooper was quick to reply, revealing that Spider-Man has a name drop in it but an appearance is a tall order. “I heard Spider-Man has a name drop in it. An appearance though? Not too certain...from either character,” the scooper said.
This also means that Sony is subtly incorporating Spider-Man into the villain origin movies for a bigger plan. The fact that they have Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in the SSU alongside Tom Holland and can use them freely makes all of this very exciting. Considering even Madame Web has a very young Peter Parker in the picture. Morbius showed Tom Holland’s version in the climax.
Directed by J.C. Chandor, Kraven The Hunter stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Russell Crowe, Fred Hechinger, Ariana DeBose, and an ensemble cast. Based on the Marvel comics, the movie follows Russian immigrant Sergei Kravinoff, who is on a mission to be named the greatest hunter in the world, but not without his superpowers, of course. Kraven The Hunter is set to hit the big screen on December 13, 2024.
