The countdown to the release of Kannada superstar Challenging Star Darshan’s Kranti has begun and the team is on a full-fledged promotional spree. While Darshan has been giving countless interviews in the last month or so to accommodate everyone that he’s promised to speak to, the first big treat from the team was the Kranti theme song Dharani, which came out only days ago. The V Harikrishna composition has notched up over 5.2 million views in the four days since it was released and has been trending continuously since then.

While the song dropped on Harikrishna’s dBeats YouTube channel, with the other language versions released two hours later, the official launch was in Mysuru, where Darshan got one of his fans to do the honours. That was the first big announcement that the production house had. And now comes the next much awaited update from them.

The second song from the film’s soundtrack, a romantic number called Bombe Bombe, featuring Darshan and Rachita Ram, will be released on December 18 in Hospet. “The entire team of Kranti will be at the song launch, where one of my fans will release the song,” said Darshan in the video announcement, which featured a fleeting glimpse from the song, Bombe Bombe.

Kranti, according to the team, has five songs, all of which will be released in the run-up to the film’s release. Closer to January 26 will be when they drop the trailer.

Meanwhile, Kranti is widely seen as Darshan’s biggest test of his stardom. Mainstream media’s ban on the actor continues and he has vowed to only promote the film in Karnataka. So, he is banking exclusively on his fans, who he calls celebrities, to see him and the film through. The promotions for the film have been with social media infuencers only, and it is not clear how impactful that strategy will be. Going by how enthusiastically Darshan fans have been celebrating the film even before official promotions started, Kranti is likely to do decent business in Karnataka, even though it is pitted against Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan that week.
