Team Kranti has made no bones about the fact that Kranti will be a massive theatrical celebration. Despite Darshan's slightly strained relationship with the mainstream media, the makers have forged on with gusto in promoting the film and have unabashedly sought the support of the many million DBoss fans in their pursuits. The mega film, which is scheduled to release on January 26, 2023, can be expected to be nothing short of a grand spectacle for the fans.
In the same vein, the Challenging Star recently shed some light on the OTT & satellite release of Kranti. In a recent press conference that was held prior to the release of the film's theme song Dharani, the actor was asked by a reporter about his OTT aspirations and whether he would wish to be part of the digital revolution anytime soon. Slightly irked by the question, Darshan chose to address the OTT part in his quintessential way and said that Kranti will certainly be part of a digital platform but one will have to wait for 45 days after the film hits theatres.
"We will definitely bring the film out on OTT since that's part of the new approach to releasing a film. Much like the satellite release of a film on specific TV channels, we will release the film on OTT as well but only after 45 days," said Darshan.
Although this does not specify the exact date of Kranti's OTT release, one could expect the film to come on a digital platform sometime in March of 2023. The makers of Kranti are yet to reveal their streaming partner and other key details of the OTT release.
Kranti will battle it out with Shah Rukh Khan's hugely anticipated Pathaan (releasing a day prior on January 25) but the entire team, led by the DBoss himself, is incredibly confident that their film will be the stronger contender in Karnataka. In a recent chat with OTTplay, producer Shylaja Nag said with absolute faith that a film starring Darshan will pull more crowds than any other film in his home state.
