The film released in theatres on January 26 to disastrous reviews, so it may head to OTT sooner than expected. Also, the other language versions have not gotten theatrical outings yet

Kannada superstar Darshan’s Kranti was meant to be a pan-India release. But as it stands now, the film has released only in Kannada in the state, with limited screens outside of Karnataka and no overseas plans yet. The film has been dubbed in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi, which, producer Shylaja Nag said would be sent to theatres or directly to OTT depending on the reception to the film.
Going by Kranti’s box office reception, it would seem that an OTT release is more likely for the other language versions. The film, directed by V Harikrishna, released in theatres on January 26, and has been widely panned for its unimaginative story and narrative. Although day 1 collections were decent, buoyed by interest from the actor’s fans, advance bookings for subsequent days, including the weekend, have been abysmal and industry pandits are predicting a sharp drop in collections. If this holds up, Kranti is likely to be a box office failure.
The team was, however, able to sell the digital and satellite rights of the film prior to its release, so it is likely that they have recovered a substantial percentage of the budget already from post theatrical sales. Amazon Prime Video picked up the digital rights, while Udaya TV holds the satellite rights. It was earlier said that Kranti would likely get an early March outing, but based on its theatrical performance and the fact that it has not got a pan-India release, it is being speculated that the film will be on Amazon Prime Video well within 30 days, with February 23 as the most likely date that it will begin streaming. This, of course, has not been confirmed by the platform.
Kranti, produced by Media House Studio, also stars Rachita Ram, Sampath Raj, Tarun Arora, Mutant Raghu, Sadhu Kokila, V Ravichandran, Samyukta Hornad, Girija Lokesh, Umashree, Vainidhi Jagdish, Dharmanna Kadur, Giri Shivanna, among others.
