Anand Ravi is a popular writer-actor, who shot to fame with his work in critically acclaimed films like Napoleon, Prathinidhi and Virata Parvam in the recent past. He also played the lead role in another drama titled Korameenu in December 2022. Interestingly, the actor had written the story, screenplay and dialogues for the film as well. Directed by Sripathy Karri, Korameenu also starred Kishori Dhatrak, Harish Uthaman, Shatru, Raja Raveendra in crucial roles.
After its brief theatrical run, Korameenu is now out on OTT. Leading streaming platform Amazon Prime Video has acquired the film’s digital rights and premiered it on the Sankranthi festival day recently. The film received many positive reviews upon its release in theatres and is expected to resonate well with streaming enthusiasts too. The film was produced by Pellakuru Samanya Reddy under Full Bottle Entertainments and was presented by Mango Mass Media.
The story takes off with a much-feared cop Meesala Raju aka Sitarama Raju (Shatru) being transferred from Vijayawada to Vizag. Upon his arrival, a group of men mysteriously shave Meesala Raju’s moustache. This irks Meesala Raju, who further has to deal with the drug mafia in Jalaripeta area, controlled by Karuna (Harish Uthaman). Karuna has a spat with his driver Koti (Anand Ravi). Jabardasth Emmanuel, Vajja Venkata Giridhar, Indu Kusuma and RK Naidu form the supporting cast of the film, for which Kartheek Koppera had cranked the camera while Musi Phani Teja was the production designer. Edited by Vijay Vardhan K, the film’s songs and background score were composed by Anantha Narayanan AG and Sidharth Sadasivuni. Purnachary and Lakshmi Priyanka wrote the lyrics for the album.
