The makers of the upcoming film, Kondal, have dropped its trailer just days ahead of its theatrical release on September 13. The main actor in this action thriller is Antony Varghese, widely known for his performances as a power-packed character. Weekend Blockbusters, the production house behind the successful movie RDX, has provided financial backing for the Ajit Mampally-directed project.
In addition to providing a glimpse into Kondal's characters, the two-minute and thirteen-second video implies that Antony Varghese is getting ready to return to this film as his popular action-hero persona. The actor's role, Manuel, is seen in the trailer as a young man who is an alcoholic and leads a purposeless life, giving the impression that the movie is set in a coastal setting.
It appears that his spouse is always concerned that he will get into trouble for speaking up for the weak people in his community. But a minor altercation with a bunch of powerful men escalates into a larger confrontation between Manuel and them. Overall, it features some fascinating action scenes that have never been seen before in Malayalam cinema that take place on a boat in the middle of the sea. A glimpse at a shark attack and Raj B Shetty's character further heighten the anticipation for this film.
In the meantime, there are moments when Antony's role in Kondal resembles his irascible previous characters, such as Vincent Pepe in Angamaly Diaries and Lali in Ajagajantharam. This holiday season, action moviegoers and fans alike will find the film to be an absolute treat.
Kannada star Raj B Shetty, Shabeer Kallarakkal, Nandu, Manikanda Rajan, Pramod Veliyanadu, Prathibha, Gauthami Nair, Usha, Jaya Kurup, Sarath Sabha, Siraj, Rahul Rajagopal, and others are among the stellar cast of Kondal. The songs and the original score were written by Sam CS. The editor is Sreejith Sarang, while Deepak D Menon has handled the camera work for the movie.
