Kolai: Vijay Antony's next gets a release date; here's when the crime thriller will hit screens

Vijay Antony, who has had two releases this year, Tamilarasan and Pichaikkaran 2, is ready with his next outing. Kolai, which has Balaji Kumar at its helm, is one of the forthcoming projects of the actor. The makers unveiled its trailer a few months ago which revealed a glimpse into its plot.

Billed as a crime thriller, the film revolves around the mysterious death of a popular model who enjoys a huge following in the country. The initial investigation suggests that she has been strangled to death and that there is a witness to the incident.

However, the almost perfectly executed crime leaves no clue to the investigation team. How a smart officer sets out to find the killer with the help of his team forms the rest of the story. Ritika Singh, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Radikaa Sarathkumar, and Murli Sharma play pivotal roles in the project produced by Infiniti Film Ventures and Lotus Pictures.

Sivakumar Vijayan's appealing cinematography is one of the prime attractions in the movie's trailer. Girishh Gopalakrishnan and Selva RK have handled music and editing respectively. Mahesh Mathew has choreographed action scenes and K Aarusamy has helmed art direction.    

Durga Prasad has penned dialogues for Kolai, and its writing team includes Balakumaran Tamilselvan, Deepak Krishna, and Madan Subra. Vijay Antony has now excitedly taken to his Twitter page to announce the release news of the film. Like his previous outing Pichaikkaran 2, the project will be released in Telugu as well.

Hatya is the title for Kolai's Tollywood version. Both versions will hit screens on July 21. The makers are likely to unveil another promo video soon.
