Kolai: THIS leading OTT platform has bagged the digital rights of Vijay Antony-starrer crime drama

Vijay Antony is gearing up for the release of his third outing of the year, Kolai, which is hitting the screens in Tamil and Telugu tomorrow. The Tollywood version of the movie has been titled Hatya. Balaji Kumar has directed the project which is billed as a crime drama.

Meenakshi Chaudhary, Ritika Singh, Arjun Chidambaram, Radhikaa and Murali Sharma among others play pivotal characters in the film bankrolled by Infiniti Film Ventures and Lotus Pictures. Sivakumar Vijayan and Girishh Gopalakrishnan have handled cinematography and music respectively for the movie.

Though the makers haven't revealed the film's OTT partner yet, it is now out that Amazon Prime has bagged its digital rights. Kolai is expected to drop on the platform in the second or third week of August. Vijay Antony's Tamilarasan and Pichaikkaran 2 which was released earlier this year are streaming on Zee5 and Disney+ Hotstar.

The movie revolves around the murder of a popular singer. A cop who is assigned the duty to trace the murderer seeks the help of a former investigative officer. How they set out to nab the killer despite facing various challenges forms the rest of the story.

Mahesh Mathew has helmed action choreography while K Aarusamy has handled art direction. Selva RK and Ramesh Acharya are in charge of editing and VFX supervision. Kolai marks the return of director Balaji after a decade's hiatus. The acclaimed Vidiyum Munn was his previous project.
