Barun Sobti, who has already been in the news for his stellar performance in Asur 2, is now garnering praise for his role in Netflix’s new murder mystery drama - Kohrra. Currently, among the Top 10 shows on the OTT platform, the story of Kohrra is set in Punjab, revolving around the murder of an NRI groom, just days before the wedding. It stars Suvinder Vicky and Barun as the police officers investigating the matter.
Kohrra also features Vishal Handa, Ivantiy Novak, Harleen Sethi, Rachel Shelley, Varun Badola and Manish Chaudhari in key roles. Gunjit Chopra, Sudip Sharma and Diggi Sisodia are the creators of the show, while it’s directed by Randeep Jha.
Sharing some BTS moments from the set, showrunner Sudip recently said in an interview that Barun loves exploring mystery rooms. “Barun is a big fan of mystery rooms. He got me hooked on it. I went four-five times with him. In Ludhiana, we were stuck in a hotel for four-five months, and the only thing we could find there was a mystery room. It was fun,” Sudip told ANI.
‘Mystery Rooms’ is a real-life, escape-game experience, where you are locked up in a room for some time with a group of two-eight people to solve many puzzles to escape.
Commenting on why Kohhra is different from other shows, Sudip said, “There is a delicate balance of investigation drama and a relationship drama that we have tried to find with this. We never approached the show as a cop drama. It is more than that. It’s more than who killed whom. It’s really about human relationships.”
