Ranveer Singh has been trolled! Recently, the 38-year-old actor and Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone graced the couch of Koffee with Karan Season 8 wherein they spoke in detail about their personal lives including how they first met, when they decided to marry each other, etc. While plenty of internet users are gaga over their on-screen chemistry, a few eagle-eyed movie buffs have caught Ranveer lying on the show.
Why is Ranveer Singh trolled?
During a candid conversation with filmmaker Karan Johar on the show recently, Ranveer Singh smilingly recalled when he first met Deepika Padukone. The Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani actor elaborated on meeting Deepika for the reading process of Goliyon Ki Rasleela: Ram Leela at filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s house.
Ranveer said, “I was (sitting) at the table and the door was there. He (Sanjay) has these heavy doors, and he lives by the seaside. So, these heavy doors open, and a gush of wind comes inside from the sea. She (Deepika) is dressed in a white chikankari just like a saadgi ki moorat and her hair is blowing away and I was like ‘Oh My God!’.”
Internet reactions on Ranveer Singh-Deepika Padukone’s ‘first meeting’ comment
Soon after Ranveer Singh made this comment on the show – which premiered on October 26 at midnight, eagle-eyed internet users caught him lying. Many of such users recalled the time when he talked about meeting Anushka Sharma for the first time on the same show.
On Instagrammer wrote, “2 minutes silence for those who think Ranveer and Deepika had a love marriage.”
Another X user commented, “We know the show is scripted. But the PR forgot to update it.”
One more user added, “Fake public display of love.”
For the unfamiliar, Ranveer Singh was dating Anushka Sharma before he decided to marry Deepika Padukone.
Ranveer and Anushka dated for about a year – from 2010 to 2011. Five years later, Ranveer Singh found love in Deepika Padukone with whom he is married. Anushka, on the other hand, is married to popular Indian cricketer Virat Kohli. Virat is currently also the most-followed Asian on Instagram with over 250 million followers.
