It's been nearly two decades since Koffee With Karan premiered, and the show has witnessed who's who in showbiz gracing the couch. However, there are a few celebs who haven't made it to Karan Johar's talk show. Yes, it does come as a surprise that there are celebrities who have yet to face the filmmaker and his grilling yet quirky questions.
During an interaction with The Hindu, KJo revealed one actor he invited but failed to make it to the couch. The filmmaker said that in any case, he did bring it up with Rekha once, even just a few seasons back. She wasn't persuaded, despite his best efforts to encourage her to appear on the show. But after that, he realised that Rekha had such a mysterious, exotic quality about her that it must always be preserved. After that, he didn't push it.
Karan further spoke about his bond with Aditya Chopra and how he wouldn't dare invite him on the show. The filmmaker shared that Chopra has served as his mentor, guru, rock, and everything else. The Befikre director has served as his conscience in many ways, and Karan believes he strongly disagrees with much of what he does. But he believes that Chopra still puts up with that because of how much he cares for Karan.
The Mohabbatein director has always been the main factor in Karan's decision to work in the film industry, and he will be forever thankful to Aditya for his encouragement and support.
Karan further said that he really did mean it when he stated that Chopra was his best buddy in Bollywood and he still means it today. Aditya has always been such a strong voice of reason for KJo that he finds himself calling him and reaching out to him when the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil director is in a serious crisis and at his weakest emotionally.
KJo concluded by saying that he lacks the courage to even ask Aditya Chopra to be on Koffee With Karan.
