It was back in 2004, when Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol became the first ever guests on Koffee With Karan, hosted by Karan Johar. Since then, SRK has appeared in four out of seven seasons, and every season, there is a wait to see him grace the Koffee couch. The wait continues for the eighth season; however, Karan has shared bad news that the superstar will not be making it on the show this season either. This will sadly be the third time Shah Rukh will not appear on the popular talk show.

Deserving silence for the Superstar

Confirming the news, Karan told Pinkvilla, "With all due respect, he is there, but I don’t think he wants to be at the forefront and speak. I think he deserves his silence. As fans and filmmakers, we should give him that." This news comes after reports started making the rounds that SRK is likely to appear with his son Aryan Khan on Koffee With Karan this season.

Shah Rukh has earlier marked his presence on the KJo-hosted talk show with Kajol, Rani Mukerji, Gauri Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Sussanne Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Farah Khan, and Alia Bhatt.

Karan Johar's praise for Shah Rukh Khan

Meanwhile, during an interaction with the entertainment portal, Karan was all praise for the superstar, stating that the most attractive quality of Shah Rukh Khan is the way he pays attention to you and engages with you personally whenever he is with you. He doesn't care who you are or where you're from, and the filmmaker thinks he was a fan within the first five minutes of meeting him. He called SRK the most incredible person he had ever met. Karan went on to say that most people have missed out if they haven't met Shah Rukh Khan, since that moment was special and it still is. He concluded by saying that the superstar is naturally majestic and also possesses a fascinating personality.

On the work front, Karan has directed SRK in movies, namely Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, and My Name is Khan. The Pathaan star also made a special appearance in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and they co-produced Student of the Year.

Koffee With Karan Season 8 will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on October 26, 2023.
