Koffee with Karan season 8 is back with another wholesome episode with an interesting chat from some of the renowned faces of the entertainment industry. The ninth episode featured the seasoned actor-director duo – filmmaker Rohit Shetty and actor Ajay Devgn gracing the KWK couch. From heartfelt conversations at the beginning of their career to their kids’ future plans, both the special guests opened up with exciting anecdotes.

Ajay Devgn on Nepotism and struggles

During a candid conversation, the filmmaker host Karan Johar asked Ajay Devgn to share his father’s story of fame and career in the showbiz industry. The Golmaal actor narrated the life-changing street fight incident when his father, Veeru Devgan had a chance encounter with senior action director Ravi Khanna and he offered him the chance to be a fighter.

Veeru Devgan was one of the finest action choreographers in the industry. His struggle started when he ran away from home at the tender age of 13-years-old.

Ajay Devgn took a dig at the people who blame nepotism for various instances and overlook the hard work one goes through to reach the stage. He gave a befitting reply to the trolls and said,

“Today you go on social media and read so many things, like nepotism and all. But people don’t realize that the generations have worked hard and worked very hard to reach here. It’s not an easy story like “Iska beta hai toh...,” the 54-year-old actor said.

Hardwork and struggle never ends..

The chat show host also nodded with Devgn’s take and criticized all those who called him ‘the flag bearer of nepotism.’

The Singham actor also debated that struggle is equal for everyone, irrespective of the career field one has chosen. “You have to do hard work and it goes on”, he added. He also pointed towards his broken ankles while sharing that people “don't see that part of hard work,” while tend to ignore the fact that even the industry people don’t get everything handed to them.

Ajay Devgn is gearing up for his awaited film, Singham 3, directed by his 33-year-old associate and friend Rohit Shetty.
