Karan Johar's Koffee With Karan is one of the most popular chat shows. Celebrities spill the tea and it gains a lot of attention. In 2019, cricketers KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya appeared on the show and received a massive backlash. Their comments during the show resulted in their suspension ahead of the Australia series. In a new interview, Rahul recalled the time and admitted that he felt 'scarred.'

In an interview with Nikhil Kamath, cricketer KL Rahul recalled the incident and said that the interview was a different world and that completely changed him. Calling himself a shy, soft-spoken boy growing up, the cricketer added he had no problem being in a huge group of people and he has been in a room of 100 people because he would talk to everyone, adding that the Koffee With Karan incident "scarred" him.

"Now I don't (do that) because that interview scarred me massively. Getting suspended from the team. I have never been suspended in school, I have never been punished in school. All this never happened to me. I didn't know how to handle it," he told Nikhil Kamath on his podcast.
Notably, the backlash was so severe that the episode was eventually removed by the streaming platform.
Drawing comparisons with his school days, KL Rahul noted that he had never faced such severe consequences before. He said that he did mischievous things in schools like chota mota (small things), but nothing to get him expelled from school or his parents had to come. "That was my first, and then you realize how bad it is," said KL Rahul.

During the episode, the cricketer duo spoke about their personal lives and shared some details that sparked a nationwide controversy.
Hardik opened up on informing his parents of losing virginity and pointing out women at a party while mentioning their reaction, ‘Wah proud of you beta’. When KJo asked about them dating the same woman, Rahul revealed that it depends on the women while Pandya concluded by saying that it is based on talent.
