Kishkindha Kaandam OTT and Satellite rights sold for a record price? Here’s what we know

Kishkindha Kaandam, the mystery drama directed by Dinjith Ayyathan, emerged as the surprise package among the Onam 2024 releases. The movie, which stars Asif Ali, Vijayaraghavan, and Aparna Balamurali in the lead roles, has been receiving rave reviews from audiences and critics. When it completes the first 10 days of its release, Kishkindha Kaandam is now making headlines again, with its OTT and Satellite rights. Reportedly, the post-theatrical rights of the film have been sold for a whopping price.

Kishkindha Kaandam OTT and Satellite rights are sold

As per the recent updates, Kishkindha Kaandam has emerged as the first Onam film of 2024 to close the OTT and Satellite deals. The sources close to the project suggest that the Dinjith Ayyathan directorial’s post-theatrical OTT rights and Satellite telecast rights have been sold for Rs. 12 crore, double the film's budget. If the reports are to be believed, it is the all-time highest price received by an Asif Ali film, yet. However, there is no update on the film’s OTT and Satellite partners.

Kishkindha Kaandam box office: Set to enter the Rs. 50 crore club

If things proceed at the same rate, Kishkindha Kaandam might mark its leading man Asif Ali’s solo entry into the Malayalam film industry’s Rs. 50 crore club. The movie, which stars Vijayaraghavan in a pivotal role and Aparna Balamurali as the female lead, has already crossed the Rs. 30 crore mark at the box office. Thus, the movie also emerged as the all-time highest-grossing film of Asif Ali. Trade experts suggest that Kishkindha Kaandam will enter the Rs. 50 crore club, by the end of its second week at the theatres.

Asif Ali plays the role of Ajay Chandran KV in the film, which stars Vijayaraghavan as his father Appu Pillai, and Aparna Balamurali in the role of his second wife, Aparna. Kishkindha Kaandam stars Jagadish, Ashokan, Aarav, Vyshnavi Raj, Shebin Benson, Major Ravi, Nizhalgal Ravi, Nishan, Kottayam Ramesh, and others in supporting roles.
