Director Dinjith Ayyathan’s Onam hit, the thriller Kishkindha Kaandam, dropped on OTT on November 19 and audiences can’t stop showering it with love. The film, which is based on a story by Bahul Ramesh and has Asif Ali, Vijayaraghavan, and Aparna Balamurali as the leads, is currently streaming on Disney+ Hotstar in Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi and audiences across the country are taking to social media to sing its praise.

What does the audience love about Kishkindha Kaandam?

By and large, pretty much everyone who has seen Kishkindha Kaandam on OTT has said that it is the best-written movie from Mollywood. The unpredictable nature of the screenplay, the unexpected twists and turns, and the layered narrative make this slow-burn psychological thriller a must-watch, they reckon. Asif Ali’s performance, especially in the last 20 minutes of the film gets special mention, as well as Vijayaraghavan’s outing as the former’s father, a retired army man. The actor’s ability to make each of his recent roles different in their own way, whether it is in the dialect, body language, or mannerisms, makes him a legendary actor, say netizens.

“Malyalam Cinema yet again leaves you spellbound with #KishkindhaKaandam. Fabulous storytelling and top notch acting, incredible build up to suspense with a soul stirring the climax that simply stays with you. Highly recommended,” writes X user Gagan Chawla. Yet another, Ranga, adds, “If you watched KishkindhaKaandam and didn’t feel the hype, try watching one more time with all the information you have from first watch. Have a close look at each scene from beginning and your mind will be blown at the screenplay.”

Overwhelmingly, the comments are all about Kishkindha Kaandam being a brilliant movie, the last 20 minutes of which will leave you unable to peel your eyes away from the screen. Mujeeb Majeed’s background score, especially in the climax, has a new fan following. The film, meanwhile, revolves around the mystery behind a missing revolver and a missing person.
