While the world is moving forward and there are new releases from different corners of the world releasing every week, it looks like the buzz and conversation around Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal is far from fading. Most recently, in the episode of Sandeep Reddy Vanga trying to defend his movie and slam everyone who spoke against it, he said some very bold things to filmmaker Kiran Rao who has refused to be in sync with the thoughts he has presented in his film Kabir Singh, and also the SS Rajamouli starrer Baahubali. Turns out Rao became the talk of the town right before the release of her new directorial Laapataa Ladies.
While the internet has already dissected and given their theories on his Sandeep Reddy Vanga replying to Kiran Rao has in turn benefited the latter who has a film that will be released on March 1. In a latest interview she was asked the question and the filmmaker indeed had a very interesting answer to the same. During her chat with Connect FM Canada, Kiran was asked whether the entire row where Vanga responded to her statement and she replying has brought some eyeballs towards her and Laapataa Ladies.
Like a boss, Kiran Rao spoke about the same and said that she only felt like responding and she did and now people know her and know that she has a film coming up. “I did feel like I had to respond and I did, so that’s out there. I guess if people have seen it, now they know who I am and that I have a film coming on March 1,” Rao said. The comment comes after a conversation between the two filmmakers through interviews.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga in his response to Kiran Rao reportedly calling Kabir Singh and Baahubali misogynistic, had advised her to go and ask Aamir Khan about his song ‘Khambe Jaisi Khadi Hai’ from the movie Dil. While doing so, he addressed her as a superstar’s second ex-wife. The comment instantly made news, and Kiran who is now promoting her directorial venture Laapataa Ladies was asked about the same at length.
Laapataa Ladies is a story set in heartland India, decades ago, when brides get swapped on a train and the hunt for the real one begins. The movie is talking about the place of women in the society and how the ones with the voice are instantly labelled a problem. It is set to release on the big screen on March 1, 2024. Stay tuned to OTTplay for more on this and everything else from the world of streaming and films.
