The gangster flick, marks the debut of Abhilash Joshiy as a director

Ever since the character poster video of Dulquer Salmaan's King of Kotha was released yesterday, the pulsating background music has become the town. The film has music by Shaan Rahman and Jakes Bejoy. Today, Jakes Bejoy took to his social media handle to announce that Shreya Ghoshal has sung a peppy number in the album.
Dropping pictures with the ace singer at the recording studio, Bejoy wrote, "So happy to have @shreyaghoshal in a peppy track in #kingofkotha. Just done with the recording. #KOK @dulQuer #AbhilashJoshiy @DQsWayfarerFilm @zeestudiossouth (sic)."
Meanwhile, actor Saran, who is all set to make his Malayalam debut with the film, has stated that he couldn't ask for a better debut in the language. Taking to his social media handle, he wrote, "Finally here it is. Couldn't have asked for a better debut than this one in Malayalam alongside the most amazing human being/actor @dulQuer sir Love you sir. And my favourite director abhilash joshiy sir (sic)."
The actor had announced his Malayalam debut earlier this year with the post, "So happy to share my next big step with you all on this special day! #kingofkotha and happy Pongal everyone! Looking forward to this exciting journey! Love you all (sic)."
The characters were revealed in a dramatic video yesterday. While Shabeer Karakkal will be seen as Kannan, Prasanna as Shahul Hassan, Aishwarya as Tara, Nyla Usha as Manju, Chemban Jose Vinoth as Ranjith, Gokul Suresh as Tony, Shammil Thilakan as Ravi, Shanthi Krishna as Malathi, Saran as Jinu and Anikha Surendran as Rithu.
King of Kotha is bankrolled by Dulquer’s Wayfarer Films, along with Zee Studios and is being made on a mega budget. While the cinematography is by Nimish Ravi, editing is by Shyam Sasidharan. The gangster flick is one of the most-awaited and hyped projects of Dulquer Salmaan.
