Dulquer Salmaan has been extensively promoting his pan-Indian film, King of Kotha. During a recent pre-release event in Kochi, the actor did an impression of Malayalam superstar Mohanlal; Dulquer imitated Lalettan's popular walking style. While this lasted only for a few seconds, Dulquer was quick to apologise to Mohanlal soon after.
This is not the first time that young actors have done impressions of Mohanlal at public events. The mannerisms and dialogue of the Lucifer actor have also been widely imitated by many young actors in their films.
Mohanlal is said to have more fans than any other actor in the Malayalam film industry. Now, Dulquer, with his recent movies and performances, has also managed to create a similar fan base in Kerala and beyond.
King of Kotha's grand promotions
The actor had already held three pre-release events: in Kochi, Chennai, and Hyderabad. This is the first time that a Malayalam film has witnessed promotion at such a grand level. The event in Hyderabad was also attended by Telugu actors Rana Daggubati and Nani.
The trailer for King of Kotha was also screened at New York's Times Square, making it the first Malayalam film to be promoted there.
King of Kotha is also trending when it comes to advanced booking records. Recently, online booking platform BookMyShow recorded a record sale of over 5,000 tickets in just 24 hours for the film.

King of Kotha is a gangster drama that revolves around the lives of the people in a fictional town called Kotha. The trailer for the film shows that it is a true-blue mass entertainer, high on action and elements of family drama.
King of Kotha is jointly produced by Dulquer's Wayfarer Films and Zee Studios. The film marks the debut production of Zee Studios in the Malayalam film industry.
