KRG Studios is certainly on the move as the production/distribution entity continues to gather exciting projects as part of its upcoming slate of releases. Very recently, KRG announced 'Powder', a new Kannada feature film that marks the beginning of the studio's promising collab with the production house, The Viral Fever.
In the same vein came the first glimpse of the two-part gangster film Uttarakaanda, which sees Karthik Gowda, Yogi G Raj & Co. reuniting with their Rathnan Prapancha teammates Dhananjaya and filmmaker Rohit Padaki.
And to top this, KRG Studios has come forward with another extremely exciting announcement that includes Kiccha Sudeep himself. On the eve of the superstar's birthday, the production house has announced that it will be working with Sudeep for the very first time on a film that's titled 'KK', or 'King Kichcha'.
Double Duty for Kiccha Sudeep
For fans of Sudeep, the announcement also marks the return of the actor to the director's chair after nearly a decade. The team has shared a title teaser that reveals the tagline 'God Forgives, I don't' which suggests that Sudeep is ready to take on yet another actioner with KK, with him also playing the main lead. KK is billed as a 'prestigious project' that will be released in multiple languages.
Previously, Sudeep has directed films like No 73, Shanthi Nivasa, Veera Madakari, Just Maath Mathalli, Kempe Gowda and Maanikya, with the latter two being remakes of hit films in other languages. So, it would be interesting to see what he has in store for his fans this time around.
Sudeep, on the acting front, has Kichcha 46 whose title is set to be launched at 12 am on September 2. He will also collaborate with Anup Bhandari on Billa Ranga Baashaa.
More to come, says Karthik Gowda
With Powder, Uttarakaanda and now KK already announced, KRG Studios is evidently looking to make a mark with a varied filmography. In his recent interview with OTTplay, Karthik Gowda revealed that the studio plans on not only focusing on Kannada content but also exploring other regions in South India, with the recent TVF collab being a part of this endeavour. The focus will also be on working with a younger talent pool, says Karthik.
