The final chapter to Villanelle and Eve’s toxic, turbulent relationship will soon hit the silver screen. A teaser for the fourth and final season of Killing Eve was unveiled recently, and it does not seem to spell a happy ending for the chaotic pair.

The 30 second long teaser was released on the official social media handles of the series. It gives viewers a run down of some of the alarming things the two have done over the course of their interactions with each other. From physical assault to cold-blooded murder, the two have gone through it all to develop a unbreakable, and inexplicable bond with each other. Viewers also get a glimpse of MI6 head Carolyn Martens in the teaser as well, in a rare instance where she loses her cool in the grief followed by the death of her loved one. Her somber voice over where she is heard saying ‘ People like us aren't made for happy lives or happy endings’ encapsulates what the women have had to go through the previous seasons.

In the final few seconds, the pair are seen together finally, albeit in an eccentric setting. Eve is seen riding a scooter on a wide drive with Villanelle beside her. In the next instant the former disappears with the latter in her place, leaving viewers wondering at Eve’s fate.

Based on Luke Jennings’ book series titled Villanelle, Killing Eve follows the story of a skilled female assassin and an intelligence officer who develop a mutual obsession with each other. The series stars Sandra Oh, Jodie Comer, Fiona Shaw and Kim Bodnia in lead roles.

The fourth and final season of Killing Eve will premiere on February 27.
