Master filmmaker Martin Scorsese's latest magnum opus Killers of the Flower Moon has made its streaming debut. The film is now available for rent on BookMyShow Stream. Viewers can either rent the film for Rs 499 or buy it at Rs 799.
Killers of the Flower Moon is one of the most ambitious films in Scorsese's sprawling cinematic career. The film is based on the non-fiction book of the same name. The book was adapted for the big screen by Eric Roth along with Scorsese.
It's noteworthy that Scorsese rarely takes writing credit for his films. While Scorsese is deeply involved in the creative process of his films, including shaping the screenplay and working closely with screenwriters, he typically doesn't take official writing credits. Instead, he is often credited as the director or sometimes as a producer.
Killers of the Flower Moon boasts a star-studded cast of Academy Award-winning talents, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro and Brendan Fraser. While Lily Gladstone plays the female lead, it also stars Jesse Plemons, Tantoo Cardinal and John Lithgow.
Earlier Scorsese envisioned Killers of the Flower akin to Clint Eastwood-led Western films. And he had a script centred on a federal agent's investigation into the "Reign of Terror" in Osage County.
However, Scorsese had a change of heart when he met the kin of Mollie Burkhart, one of the survivors of the Reign of Terror, and the film shifted its perspective to tell the story from the "inside out". Scorsese redirected the narrative to explore a complex love story between Molly and Ernest against the killings of oli-rich Indians.

Killers of the Flower received rave reviews from critics when it made its debut at the 76th Cannes Film Festival. However, it didn't perform well at the box office against its whopping $200 million production cost.
