Killer Soup is finally streaming on Netflix. The series, created by Abhishek Chaubey, is the first long-format show on the streaming platform in 2024. The show, which is a black comedy thriller, stars Manoj Bajpayee and Konkona Sensharma, marking their first collaboration onscreen. Killer Soup is a delectable recipe with all the wackiness and an incredible performance by the whole cast. Throughout the eight episodes, the show serves everything on a platter, with an anticipated twist.

Major Spoilers Ahead (read at your own risk)

Swathi (Konkona Sensharma) orchestrates the death of Prabhakar (Manoj Bajpayee), and Umesh (Bajpayee) assumes his identity and reveals everything in the final episode. The episode shows Hassan (Nasser) making a final effort to solve the matter. Every crime-related secret came to light at once, including the initial murder of Prabhakar, Apeskha Shetty's (Sayaji Shinde) accidental shooting of her father Arvind, Kirtima Kusruti's (Kani Kusruti's) accidental death, and Thupalli the police officer's fall off the cliff. Swathi witnessed the last two deaths and had planned to murder them anyway.

Swathi's unveiling of truth

In the last episode, finally, as Swathi's restaurant grand opening draws near, she discovers the key ingredient to her soup. It's mushrooms, and of course, if you consume them more, you are likely to get high! Umesh, who thinks there's no limit to anything, has mushroom powdered soup more than he should and blurts out the reality of who he is—not Prabhakar! This leads to the cop witnessing that the person behind all the chaos is Swathi. While pointing a gun at everyone, she makes revelations about everything that happened throughout the series. As a result, Umesh is injured when she pushes him to the floor. This leads to his passing out. After confessing everything, Swathi runs to the same cliff from where Thupalli fell and directly jumps into the lake. On the other hand, they put Umesh in a car and rushed him to the hospital.

However, we see that Swathi survives and saves herself from drowning, and Umesh runs away from the car. We see both of them getting in an empty bus, hinting that they are finally eloping to Madurai, as they have been planning from the beginning.

Glimpse of hope for a sequel

Does it mean this is the end of Killer Soup? Well, it looks like the chase will continue, and if the makers plan, they can greenlight a second season. But this season definitely has a complete story; although questionable, it's the wacky cast that makes the series watchable.
