Kannada superstar Kiccha Sudeep is all set to celebrate his birthday on September 2, ahead of which he called for a special press briefing to discuss the arrangements made for the same, the fact that he’s not had a release in two years and more.
As is customary, he will meet-and-greet his fans, but just not at his home in JP Nagar. The star’s home is situated in a dense residential area, with a narrow road leading to it, and when thousands of fans congregate there to wish him, it not only causes inconveniences to his neighbourhood, but also the traffic in the area, owing to which he has been requested by police officials to make alternate arrangements.
On September 2, Sudeep will be at the MES grounds in Jayanagar between 10 am and 11.30 am, which is the time allotted to him, to celebrate his big day with his fans and well-wishers. The star also pointed out the futility of bringing him cake and flowers, both of which are wasteful expenditures, according to him. Instead, he’d rather that the money be used for a social cause or charity, as the case may be.
Talking about the Kannada industry and the need for stars like him to do more than one film a year to sustain theatres, Sudeep, who was last seen onscreen in 2022’s Vikrant Rona, said that he was making a significant change to his work culture. The actor, who, in his nearly three-decade-old career has always followed a one film at a time format, will say goodbye to this work ethic.
“I have always been a one-film at a time person. This means that when there are delays, I end up spending days together with nothing to do. Going forward, I will work on 2 or even 3 films together. My upcoming slate of films are with major production houses, which will make it possible to schedule dates more effectively. So, when I am done with one schedule of a film, I can move to another set and so on and so forth. The aim is to have 2 releases a year, but if that doesn’t happen, at least I will be rest assured that multiple projects are in production.” Sudeep said.
This also means that Sudeep is not sure which film will be his next after Max, as he is looking at taking at least 2-3 on floors shortly and greenlighting a few others. As for Max, the much-awaited action thriller does not have a release date yet, but the lyrical video of the first single will drop on September 2.
