Kiccha Sudeep receives threat letter amid BJP buzz, case transferred to Central Crime Branch

The internet sprung into sudden action on the morning of Wednesday, April 5, when reports about actor Kiccha Sudeep joining politics began to emerge. The news of Sudeep's political aspirations certainly came as a bit of a shocker to everyone around and the responses so far can be best described as 'mixed', with some of his ardent fans encouraging him to forge on and the rest expressing disappointment over the development.

In the same vein have come some extreme reactions and we now hear that Sudeep has received threat letters over his speculated decision to join politics. Soon after the news broke out and went 'viral', a popular national news channel carried a breaking report claiming that an unknown person has sent out a letter threatening to release private videos of the Vikrant Rona actor.

Sudeep's close aide and film producer Jack Manju, the same report adds, has alleged that the person has also used derogatory language against the 51-year-old actor in the letter. An FIR has now been registered against the concerned person at the Puttenahalli Police Station of Bengaluru and the authorities are said to have begun their investigation.

In fact, the report also informs us that the letter carrying the threat was sent out on March 29 but the due process has gotten underway now. The case, we hear, has been transferred to the Central Crime Branch based on an order from Bengaluru City Commissioner, Pratap Reddy.

Although unconfirmed, the buzz is that Sudeep will be joining the Bharatiya Janata Party ahead of the upcoming Karnataka Legislative Assembly elections. It isn't clear whether Sudeep is slated to become a full-fledged member of the party or become their star campaigner for the crucial stint. 

Fellow superstar Darshan Thoogudeepa, too, is also ostensibly set to join BJP in the same capacity as Sudeep, according to other reports. The actors are expected to make a formal announcement today, April 5. 

Over the past few weeks, Sudeep has been in the news over his next acting project (Kiccha 46). The actor recently confirmed that he is currently associated with three exciting prospects.
