A lot's unfolded for Kiccha Sudeep and his fans within a matter of hours. To begin the proceedings, news reports about Sudeep joining the Bharatiya Janata Party as part of his apparent political aspirations came to the fore, much to the shock of the general public. Turned out the reports, which were initially seen as 'speculations', weren't completely true, but weren't very far from the reality either.

It soon came to light that the Vikrant Rona actor was going to get involved in politics without a doubt, but not to contest in elections or become a full-fledged member of any party. Kiccha Sudeep, in an attempt to put all matters in perspective, made a formal announcement that he was going to campaign for Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai and a few other members of the BJP ahead of the 2023 Karnataka elections.

"I am not joining politics or not revealing affiliations to any particular party but only extending support to certain individuals," said Sudeep in the press conference.

However, it wasn't all smooth sailing for Sudeep to get to this point. Earlier in the day, news about the actor receiving two threatening letters broke out and took the whole narrative in a new direction. The letters, which are said to be derogatory in nature, warned Sudeep that a private video of his would be leaked on social media but the reason behind the 'threat' remains unclear so far. Though it was assumed that there was a political connection behind it all, Sudeep himself cleared the air by saying that the letters were the "handiwork of a few people in the Kannada film industry".

Speaking to the media on this, he said, "This is definitely done by persons in the film industry. I know how to answer this development. These matters must be pursued legally. Though knowing well who is behind it, I chose to be quiet. The conspiracy will come out soon. I will not leave it just like that. I have taken certain decisions and I will stand by them. I have my friends in all political parties. I have made a decision for my friends".

The two letters carrying the threat are said to have been received by Sudeep's manager and close aide/film producer Jack Manjunath. Following this, an FIR has been registered at Bengaluru's Puttenahalli Police Station under the IPC Sections 506 and 504. The authorities have also launched a probe into the matter and nab the culprits.
