Kiccha Sudeep was in Mysuru today to inaugurate the latest restaurant venture by actor and fellow Celebrity Cricket League player Chandan Kumar. Naturally, the question on everyone’s mind was about the status of Sudeep’s next film, Max. The actor began shooting for the film produced by Kalaipulli Thanu and directed by debutant Vijay Karthikeya in July last year and is yet to complete the film, which netizens believe is also because he has been spending a lot of time playing cricket, whether it is the Karnataka Chalanachitra Cup or the Celebrity Cricket League.
Sudeep, though, pooh-poohs these theories, stating that him playing cricket has nothing to do with the fact that the film is taking time in the making. Max, he said, is a big film and should be completed in another 15-18 days. The Kannada superstar will return to the set tomorrow and is hopeful of finishing the film in this schedule. The most exciting bit of news that Sudeep shared was that the team is targeting a May 2024 release for the film.
Max, meanwhile, sees Sudeep return to khaki as a police official called Arjun Mahakshay, alias Max. A synopsis of the film on ticket aggregator BookMyShow has Sudeep as Arjun Mahakshay encounter a minister’s son committing atrocities against fellow police officials, for which he arrests the latter. But when he then dies in the ensuing scuffle, Arjun has to bear the brunt of it.
Sudeep was last seen onscreen in July 2022, when Vikrant Rona came out, which is why his fans are impatient about updates on his next. Following Max, the superstar has a few films lined up, one of which will see him return to the director’s chair after a decade. Sudeep is collaborating with KRG Studios on a gangster film called King Kichcha, but that may not be the project he jumps into immediately after Max.
