Not long ago, during an #AskKichcha session on X, Kiccha Sudeep had tweeted, “VP has disappeared”, in response to a query about his proposed film with Tamil filmmaker Venkat Prabhu. This had led to speculation that the film stands shelved or at least delayed. When Sudeep initiated yet another quick round of Q&A on social media earlier today, a fan decided to try and get clarity on this project and asked, “Anna any Possibilities in a year or two...,” along with a picture of Sudeep and Venkat Prabhu from when the filmmaker visited the actor in Bengaluru. The reply was a resounding, “Nope”. Well, by the looks of it, this chapter seems closed for good.

About a year ago, sources close to the Maanaadu director had said that the project with Sudeep was definitely on the cards, but that timeline would become clear only after Venkat was done with the Naga Chaitanya starrer Custody. While that film has come and gone, Venkat is now deep in the middle of making Thalapathy Vijay’s next, GOAT, which will the Tamil superstar’s penultimate film. Vijay has announced his political entry after #Thalapathy69. GOAT is film number 68.

But then even without Venkat’s film, Sudeep has a bunch of interesting projects lined up anyway. He’s currently winding up work on Max, directed by newcomer Vijay Kartikeyan. The film has Sudeep in cop mode again, following which he is rumoured to be collaborating with director Cheran. The film after that is said to be Sudeep’s return to direction after a decade. Called King Kichcha, this underworld story will be produced by KRG Studios.

Besides these films, Kabzaa maker R Chandru has announced two films with Sudeep – one is, of course, Kabzaa 2, in which the actor’s character Bhargav Bakshi will have a more prominent role, while the other is said to be a ‘global’ film. Chandru recently announced the launch of his banner RC Studios, through which he will make five films in the next year or two. Chandru will not direct all 5, with Kabzaa 2, POK and Father resting with him. Father is a film with Darling Krishna in the lead, so, P.O.K is likely to be the film with Sudeep, who, in turn is yet to confirm these projects.

The actor, who is currently shooting for the final schedule of Max, will soon head to Sharjah for the 10th season of the Celebrity Cricket League. He will lead the Sandalwood side, Karnataka Bulldozers in the tournament that goes on till March 17.
