If you're looking for a laugh this Diwali season, look no further than Khichdi 2: Mission Paanthukistan, the widely awaited sequel. The legendary Parekh family is back to make the audience laugh again. Produced by Jamnadas Majethia (JD), Hats Off Productions, and directed by Aatish Kapadia, this film takes viewers on a rollercoaster ride as they investigate the unusual dynamics of the Parekh family. Going by the trailer, comedic gold is guaranteed from the performances of Supriya Pathak Kapoor, Jamnadas Majethia (JD), Rajeev Mehta, Anang Desai, Vandana Pathak, and Kirti Kulhari.
The hilarious plot unveiled
The movie's trailer reveals that Praful's (Rajeev Mehta) doppelganger is the ruler of Paanthukistan, a nation. Thus, the whole Parekh family unites and goes to that secluded country where everything is wrapped in the atrocities of the ruler and the common people are the sufferers. Now, with this bizarre family, the terror increases as they make people scratch their heads and bang their heads against the wall even with their mere presence.

Special appearances and new additions
Khichdi 2: Mission Paanthukistan stars Kriti Kulhari, who makes a special appearance by reprising her role as Parminder from the original film Khichdi: The Movie (2010). Farah Khan makes an appearance as a gangster, while Pratik Gandhi has joined the Parekh family on their journey as he is the one seen in the cockpit of the family's chopper.
The film is returning with a sequel after 13 years, as the first instalment was released in 2010. Nimisha Vakharia replaced Vandana Pathak as Jayashree in the first film, while the latter is back in the sequel with her iconic role. The original film was declared a box office hit as it was the first Indian show to have a film as its spin-off.
