Just a couple of years back, an extremely simple looking and honest guy braved many odds and participate in a reality show ‘Roadies’. His simplicity was so touching and appealing that it even made the show’s judge Ranvijay Singha become extremely emotional. We are indeed talking about Shiv Thakare, who has today, become a name to reckon with.
Post his participation in ‘Roadies’, he was offered to participate in ‘Bigg Boss’ (Marathi), which he eventually won. This was followed by his participation in Bigg Boss (Hindi) last year, where he became the first runner up. Even though he could not win the trophy, he did manage to win many hearts and also the attention of many.
These days, Shiv Thakare can be seen as one of the contestants in the ongoing reality show ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 13’. No sooner he entered the show, his magic was felt by everyone. ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’, is a show which is known for putting its contestants under gruel circumstances while doing challenging tasks. Those who have been following the show ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 13’ would have been witness to Shiv Thakare’s feat, where he performed the water task and won it. The video of the same is going viral. Not many know that Shiv doesn’t know swimming properly.
Talking about this water task in a media statement, he said, "I was approached for Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 13 while I was in Bigg Boss House for season 16. I always knew that in Khatron they have many water tasks and I never knew swimming. So, I was bit skeptical and scared of being part of Khatron. But then, I said to myself, Shiv ghe Bappa cha naav aani laag kamawar (Take god's name and do your best). I came out of Bigg Boss house and started taking formal training for swimming. In that very little time window I tried to learn whatever I could. Before I could finish complete training, I got the call and had to leave for Cape Town. While shooting for Khatron Ke Shiladi, also Shiv was like Deva Parmeshwara vachav re mala (oh god please save me) from water task. But whenever Rohit Shetty said, Shiv you have to do it, he used to focus on finishing on his task, ignoring his fears”
