KGF-Chapter 2 song: Lyrical video of Toofan to drop on March 21

When Hombale Films, the production house backing the magnum opus franchise, KGF, geared up to begin promotions for the sequel, KGF: Chapter 2, they’d run a poll on social media handles asking fans if they’d like to see the trailer first or a song. The overwhelming winner of the poll was the trailer and the banner soon enough announced a date on which it would be released – March 27. At that point, fans went ballistic, given that it was a good three weeks way. But it turns out that the team will release a song even earlier.

Minutes ago, Hombale Films announced that the first lyrical video of KGF: Chapter 2, Toofan, composed by Ravi Basrur, will drop on March 21 at 11.07 am. While it made fans happy, the buzz on social media was also about how the silence from team KGF all this time was to ensure that the spotlight was firmly on the late Puneeth Rajkumar’s James. Now that the film is in theatres, it seemed right to start promotions of KGF: Chapter 2, which is less than a month away from release. This song, they say, will set the tone for the second instalment of KGF franchise.

Directed by Prashant Neel, Rocking Star Yash’s film adds Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tandon to its already massive ensemble cast. The pan-India film, which will release in multiple languages, will be presented by Ritesh Sidhwani & Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment and AA Films in the north Indian markets.

KGF: Chapter 2 is Yash’s third film with the banner, after Masterpiece (2015) and KGF: Chapter 1 (2018). After KGF2, the banner will focus on its next big-ticket production, the Prabhas-starrer Salaar, which is being directed by Ugramm and KGF maker Prashant Neel.
