KGF: Chapter 2 Box Office Collection Day 1 – Yash’s movie makes opening day history!

The hype around Yash’s movie KGF: Chapter 2 was already high, with fans rushing to book tickets in advance. After its release yesterday, as expected, the movie has done wonders at the box office by grossing close to Rs 135 crore on Day 1.

In spite of the ongoing Ramzan period and the pandemic, the magnum opus demolished all previous box office records and cemented its position as one of the biggest Indian films of all time. It’s also the first highest Indian opener with a solo lead.

The Hindi version of KGF: Chapter 2 witnessed the biggest opening for a Hindi language film. In Karnataka, the movie has earned Rs 63.66. It’s also the highest opener in Kerala.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the box office update on Twitter:

Times of India reports that the movie saw 2.9 million tickets booked in advance, which is now available across more than 10,000 screens worldwide. This includes 4400 screens in the Northern part of the country. The movie finally had its worldwide release yesterday and trade reports suggest it has registered a massive opening.

While Hombale Films has produced the KGF: Chapter 2, it was presented in North-Indian markets by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment and AA Films.

Excel is behind super hits like Dil Chahta Hai, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Dil Dhadakne Do, and Gully Boy to name a few. Excel chose to back KGF: Chapter 1 back in 2018, and stuck to their vision of having a theatrical release for the new magnum opus, a move that paid off and how!

The film is headlined by Yash and stars a talented ensemble of actors including Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon and Srinidhi Shetty, among others. It was released across the country in Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam. KGF: Chapter 2 is written and directed by Prashanth Neel.
