A collaboration between Dileep and Nadirshah was always on the cards ever since the latter made his directorial debut in 2015 with Amar Akbar Antony. With Kesu Ee Veedinte Nadhan, it has finally come to fruition and the movie’s trailer that was released recently promises everything that fans have come to expect from the duo over the past two decades – comedy and entertainment.
The long-time friends, whose mimicry work and comedy skits have been hits, are teaming up for the first time as a director and actor for the movie, which has Dileep take on another tough character, much like his ventures Mayamohini, Kunjikoonan and Sound Thoma.
What is Kesu Ee Veedinte Nadhan’s story?
The movie, which also has Urvashi, Anusree, Vaishnavi, Naslen and Ganapathi in pivotal roles, revolves around a sexagenarian named Kesu played by Dileep. Kesu is a driving instructor, who has his set of inferiority complexes – be it how old he looks compared with his wife or how he is regarded by his children. The film also has a lottery angle as revealed in the trailer that send their lives topsy turvy.
Where to watch Kesu Ee Veedinte Nadhan online?
The movie, which went on floors before the pandemic, had been temporarily halted due to the nationwide lockdown and had completed shooting only this year. The film’s director Nadhirshah had repeatedly expressed his interest of releasing the movie in theatres as the story lent itself to a theatre-viewing experience. Being a comedy entertainer, the filmmaker wanted it to have a theatrical release first.
However, with cases surging again due to the Omicron variant, the makers had decided to opt for a direct-to-OTT release on Disney+ Hotstar. The movie also marks Dileep’s OTT debut.
Kesu Ee Veedinte Nadhan is set to drop on the streaming platform on December 31, 2021 as part of the streaming service’s New Year release. This is Disney+ Hotstar’s second direct Malayalam release after Nivin Pauly’s Kanakam Kaamini Kalaham.
