After rumors surfaced about him rebranding the movie as Kesari 2, he finally addressed them a month later, drawing all eyes to how he plans to introduce it to the world. It all started with a cryptic post about a movie he is most proud of, and soon, it was revealed that this is the same film starring Akshay Kumar, Ananya Panday, and R. Madhavan in the lead roles. The movie is said to be a biopic of C. Sankaran Nair. Turns out, the rumors were right, as the makers have now released the teaser and first-look posters. Kesari: Chapter 2 Trailer Out Tomorrow

Akshay Kumar shared a poster on Instagram that featured a compilation of all the first-look posters, announcing the trailer release. The caption read: "1,650 bullets, 10 minutes, and 1 man who roared against it. Witness the truth behind the horrid genocide that shook India. #KesariChapter2 trailer out tomorrow. In cinemas 18th April, worldwide." From what we have heard, the trailer will be launched tomorrow afternoon at an event in Delhi in the presence of the film’s team. Kesari: Chapter 2 Teaser Released

For those unaware, it was speculated a month ago that the C. Sankaran Nair biopic had been rebranded as Kesari: Chapter 2 – The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh. The makers have now confirmed this with a teaser. 

The 1-minute-39-second teaser, released today, gives us a glimpse of what the movie has to offer. We are introduced to the premise, witnessing the horrors of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre—an event that not only claimed countless lives but also altered the course of India’s freedom struggle.

The teaser vividly portrays the heinous crime, showing how the injured and dead were left inside Jallianwala Bagh for 12 hours, with vultures feasting on them. We are then taken to the courtroom, where Akshay Kumar, portraying C. Sankaran Nair, fights against the British government. When reminded that he and his fellow Indians are mere slaves to the British, he boldly replies, “Fck you.”*

However, the teaser does not reveal the first looks of Ananya Panday and R. Madhavan—perhaps we will have to wait a bit longer for that.

Karan Johar on Kesari: Chapter 2

Before announcing Kesari: Chapter 2, Karan Johar shared a heartfelt post, saying: "The director did nothing else but put his head down and work relentlessly on his film, combating pandemic delays and other unforeseen circumstances. I am inspired by the team of actors and technicians who gave the film so much consistent support and love. One can never predict commercial success, BUT what I can say with all my heart is that this film is one of Dharma’s proudest films. I say this as a filmmaker and an audience. Starring Akshay Kumar, R. Madhavan, and Ananya Panday, Kesari: Chapter 2 is set to hit the big screen on April 18, 2025.
