Kesari Chapter 2 teaser out! Akshay Kumar takes us back to the horrors of the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre

The last week in India has been all about the anticipation surrounding Karan Johar's big announcement, as he has been teasing fans on Instagram. The filmmaker first expressed his pride in presenting an upcoming film, which is helmed by a debutant director. Fans were quick to speculate that the film in question was the Akshay Kumar, Ananya Panday, and R Madhavan-starrer period drama, directed by debutant Karan Singh Tyagi. Two days later, Karan Johar confirmed the title of the film—Kesari Chapter 2—after much speculation. Now, the makers have released the teaser, and it is quite intriguing. Kesari Chapter 2 Teaser Out

For those unaware, it was reported a month ago that the C Sankaran Nair biopic had been rebranded as Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh. The newly released teaser has now confirmed this.

The 1-minute 39-second teaser introduces us to the film’s premise. It showcases the horrors of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, an event that not only claimed countless lives but also changed the course of India's history.

The teaser vividly captures the heinous crime, depicting how the injured and deceased were left inside Jallianwala Bagh for 12 hours, their bodies abandoned for vultures to feast upon. The scene then shifts to a courtroom, where Akshay Kumar, portraying C Sankaran Nair, is seen fighting against the British government. In a powerful moment, he is reminded that he and other Indians are merely slaves to the British, to which he fiercely responds, "F*ck you."

However, the teaser does not reveal the first looks of Ananya Panday and R Madhavan, leaving fans eagerly waiting for more.

Karan Johar on Kesari Chapter 2

Two days ago, Karan Johar took to Instagram to share a heartfelt note about the film he is about to present. While he did not directly name the movie, he cryptically hinted at Kesari Chapter 2 with a saffron-colored background and saffron hearts in the caption.

Karan Johar wrote, "I am so proud to say that our next offering marks the 24th debutant filmmaker we have introduced to Hindi cinema! (Trivia for trollers: 90% of them are ‘outsiders’). I rarely write notes before a film’s release, but few films excite me, energize me, and inspire me the way this one has. Our collaborative producer and debutant director have been working on this film for four years."
