Kerala Crime Files trailer: Aju Varghese, Lal promise a gripping crime web series

The much-awaited trailer for the first-ever Malayalam web series, Kerala Crime Files - Shiju, Parayil Veedu, Neendakara , has been released, offering a glimpse into a captivating crime investigation. Based on the trailer, the series revolves around the murder investigation that unfolds in a suburban lodge room. The lifeless body of a woman is discovered, presenting the police with minimal clues to pursue. Their only lead is a fake address - Shiju, Parayil Veedu, Neendakara - extracted from the lodge register. Armed with this limited information, the cops embark on a thrilling pursuit to apprehend the criminal.

What sets this case apart is that the victim is neither a prominent figure nor the daughter of a politician, leaving the investigating officers with no pressure from higher authorities to solve the crime. Nonetheless, two determined cops, portrayed by Lal and Aju Varghese, are committed to seeking justice for the woman, who comes from a marginalised background. Despite the general indifference towards the deceased, these two officers are willing to risk everything to ensure her voice is heard.

Penned by Ashiq Aimar and directed by Ahammed Khabeer, known for the teenage drama June, Kerala Crime Files promises to deliver a masterful narrative, showcasing the exemplary storytelling prowess that Malayalam filmmakers are renowned for in the crime thriller genre. The web series aims to set new standards for crime-based web content.

Kerala Crime Files also seeks to redefine the onscreen image of Aju Varghese. Known primarily for his comedic and supporting roles in Malayalam cinema, Aju portrays a police officer with integrity and charisma in this series. His character receives the larger-than-life treatment typically reserved for prominent action stars, offering audiences a fresh perspective on his acting abilities.

Kerala Crime Files - Shiju, Parayil Veedu, Neendakara is set to premiere on Disney+Hotstar on June 23. Apart from Malayalam, the series will also be available in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali, and Marathi.
